What: The Get
Out Of The House! Party in support of Chris
Bell
Why: A couple of weeks
ago, we started wondering why we weren't hearing anybody talking about
Chris Bell. We ourselves were hesitant, afraid to get back into the
political game after the six years Austin's been through. But there is
too much at stake this year to let the Republicans demoralize our party.
They can redistrict our city, but they can't redistrict our
hearts.
We decided to throw The Get Out
Of The House! Party so all our friends could feel great about voting for
Chris Bell. Certainly, his performance in the debate last week
demonstrated why so many of us are impressed by him, enough to tell our
friends considering "protest" votes to get real and vote for
Bell. It's a horse race, and we want to do everything we can to see
Rick Perry out the door.
So join us Friday at
the party--it's going to be a revival meeting, a political rally, and a
support group all rolled up into one delicious Democratic
sandwich!
When: Friday October

Where: Scholz Garten
1607 San Jacinto Blvd (Parking should be available at the state lot and
on the street)
Who Else Is
Coming: State Representative Donna Howard, poet and activist
Genevieve Van Cleve, writer Spike Gillespie, special musical guests, Liz
Carpenter's Yellow Dog Democrat mask, and lots and lots of fantastic
women from all over Austin.
